ETHOS

For us it’s all about food and people. We love finding and cooking fantastic seasonal produce and championing the people who supply us. We’re proud of our long-standing connection with local farms such as Nicola & Toby from Beatbush Farm in Essex and Keith from Stockings Farm. We’re just as excited about the new people we're meeting such as Simon, the Book Bag Baker, who home bakes incredible sourdough in Charlton. Our fish is line caught by day boats in Cornwall and supplied to us by Dylan and team from Kernowsashimi. Our English cheeses are from Jamie at Neal’s Yard and our French cheeses are from John and Jane at Mon’s Fromager. Sensational rare-breed meat from Jorge at Swaledale. Our seasonal veg is sourced by the wizards down at Natoora in Bermondsey; how they consistently find such quality is astounding.

We are also incredible proud of our team here – our dedicated, tireless and genuinely lovely staff are the backbone of everything we do here.

The underlying foundation of everything we do is sustainability. We work hard to have as little impact as we can. We use biodegradable packaging – all of our plastics are vegetable protein and our take-away cups are compostable. We try to reduce food miles and only cook with seasonal produce. We work hard on our waste management, maximising recycling and moving to low-impact cleaning methods.

We’re a small business with big heart and love nothing more than being able to share our passion for good food, whether in the café & shop, the restaurant or popping up to cater for events of all shapes and sizes all over London. If you haven’t come down to see what we’re about, we’d love to invite you down – if you’re one of our beloved regulars, see you around soon!
