ETHOS

For us it’s all about food and people. We love finding and cooking with fantastic seasonal produce and championing the people who supply us. We’re proud of our long-standing connection with local farms such as Nicola & Toby from Beatbush Farm in Essex and Keith from Stockings Farm. We’re just as excited about the new people we're meeting such as the enigmatic Adam, who home bakes incredible sourdough, croissants and his formidable cinnamon buns in Greenwich. Our amazing seasonal fish is line caught in Cornwall by Dylan and team from Kernowsashimi. Our hand selected English cheeses from Jamie at Neal’s Yard and French cheeses from the wonderful John and Jane at Mon’s Fromager. Sensational rare-breed meat from Jorge and Brent at Swaledale. Our seasonal veg sourced and from the wizards down at Natoora in Bermondsey, how they consistently find such quality is astounding. It’s impossible to name them all but we want to say a huge thank you to everyone including Elliott at the Ham and Cheese Co., Geoff and Kim at Ivy House Farm, Gary Grey and the Appleby family and so many more! We really couldn’t do this without you!

We are also so proud of our team here – our robust, tireless and genuinely lovely staff are the backbone of everything we do here. Their kindness and love for what they do makes every day a pleasure to work here. We are striving to match their commitment to us by implementing a plan to get every full and part time member of staff on to the London Living wage. It’s a challenge for a small business but something they undoubtedly deserve. Another huge thank you to you all – you lot are amazing.

The underlying foundation of everything we do is sustainability. We work hard to have as little impact as we can. We use biodegradable packaging – all of our plastics are vegetable protein and our take-away cups are compostable. We try to reduce food miles and only cook with seasonal produce. We’re working on improving our waste management to maximise recycling and moving to low-impact cleaning methods.

We’re a small business with big heart and love nothing more than being able to share our passion for good food, whether in the café & shop, the restaurant or popping up to cater for events of all shapes and sizes all over London. If you haven’t come down to see what we’re about, we’d love to invite you down – if you’re one of our beloved regulars, see you around soon!
